Carly Bumbacco
acrylic painting, jewelry making, mixed media work
MA Applied Psychology, Laurentian University
Born and raised in Northern Ontario. A true northerner as I love camping, boating, four-wheeling, and hiking. I began my art journey as a child painting the things I love, including animals, plants, and landscapes. I enrolled in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at Algoma University in 2008, where I explored different medias and styles. I switched over to the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology as I found myself struggling to enjoy my art when it was also "work". I continue to paint, draw, and craft. I typically paint in acrylics and some times mixed media (e.g., acrylics, oils, charcoal, and a variety of materials such as drywall compound). I also make jewelry from clay, rocks, paint, epoxy, and leather, and sell within my community
Mindfulness or creative activity Carly employs to think through care: painting, crafting, meditation, yoga.
