MFA, Emily Carr University of Art + Design

Currently, I am an MFA Candidate at ECUAD, in Vancouver, BC. My practice revolves around narrative art forms within textile and fabric art. Through the use of fabric and textiles I explore familial narratives of belonging and displacement, as a Punjabi-Sikh womxn, in what is currently known as Canada.

“Activity as care, such as exercise or any body movement. I find that physical activity does wonders to activate creativity and critical thinking even. For me, when physical activity is not an option, mindfulness meditation and having open dialogue with peers, friends, or family put self-care at the forefront in stimulating ways. Thinking through equity when it comes to care practices is of great importance as well as it falls within social justice work.”
