Maya Burns is an emerging writer and researcher based in Toronto. Her work explores the critical and pedagogical potential of quotation and appropriation in contemporary art. She is passionate about accessible arts programming and currently works as an Educational Programming Assistant at the Blackwood Gallery. She recently co-curated “Movement/Nature: Guided Exercises by Artists” for the Art Gallery of Ontario (2021). She holds a BA in Contemporary Studies from the University of King’s College, and is currently pursuing an MA in Contemporary Art, Design and New Media Art Histories at OCAD University.
