Melina Bishop

Melina Bishop is a sculptor from the United States. She has a BFA in Fibers from Oregon College of Art and Craft (Portland, OR), has shown in group exhibitions across the US and was a was a 2016 resident artist at the Icelandic Textile Center (Blönduós, IS).



“I  use activities of domestic maintenance as a methodology for creating both mindfulness and a sense of connection to environment. Sweeping, dusting, doing laundry, washing dishes: all of these are sensory experiences that are commonly dismissed as being tedious and mundane. But in my personal practice these processes are meditative in their own right, as well as quintessential examples of "care" in action. “
