Nakkita Trimble
drawing, painting, carving, reading, writing, language

MFA, Emily Carr University of Art + Design

My name is Nakkita Trimble. I am Nisga'a from Kincolith, British Columbia.  Currently I live in Terrace, British Columbia where I teach at the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art.  I am also an alumni of the program and my focus is on Indigenous Tattoo Revival.

“I  volunteer with a local arts group called Skeena Salmon Festival and with the pandemic currently all art events have been cancelled.  Our group is reaching out to community in different ways to connect with one another through art.  My toddlers daycare has agreed to be apart of a community art project partially sponsored by the committee.  Once the families are finished painting, the finished painted salmon will go up along a popular walking trail in the community.”
