Nina Bakan questioning embodiment, experiments in movement, writing, reflecting, film, photography, dialogue

CCP, OCAD University

Nina Bakan is an independent critic and curator based in Toronto. Her research includes the intersection of embodiment and accessibility in arts education, with a particular interest in spatial divisions and patterns of movement as manifestations of hegemonic power structures.

“As a dancer I often think through care by experimenting with movement. While I enjoy dancing, I also regularly practice yoga to feel grounded in my mind and body. I also enjoy writing (and reading) and am most confident expressing my thoughts and feelings by writing fictocriticism.”
